​​Activities carried out by Traffic Wardens

  • Enforcement of illegal parkings all over the island.

 

  • Authority to stop vehicles for verification purposes.

  • Enforcement of Paid Parking Regulations.

     Establish contraventions by issuing parking notice.​



What is the rate applicable for Parking Fine?


  1. Rs 600 is applicable if paid within 7 days.

  2. Rs 1000 is applicable if paid after 7 days up to a maximum of 14 days.

     

    What happenned in case a parking fines is not paid after the prescribed delay of 1​​4 days?


     In case of non-payment of Parking Notice, a Notice to Owner will be sent to the registered owner by registered post to pay a fine of Rs 1000 within 14 days delay.

     

    And if the Notice to O​​wner is not paid after 14 days?


    A case file will be sent to the Commissioner of Police for prosecution in Court.

    N.B: All apyments of Parking Notices and Notice to Owner should be effected at Poat Offices or NLTA Head Office/Sub Offices.

Information on the use of parking coupons, contraventions, parking offences, paid parking zones and paid parking regulations can be obtained from Traffic Wardens.​
